Victoria Was Established

Victoria was originally inhabited by hunter-gatherer Aboriginal people for at least 65,000 years. From 1788 Victoria was part of the British colony of New South Wales. It was originally known as the Port Phillip District and permanent white settlement began in 1834. In 1851 Victoria became a separate colony. In 1901 with the federation of the Australian states the colony of Victoria became the state of Victoria in Australia. For more information on Victoria:

The current population of Victoria is 6.681 million. The capital of Victoria is the city of Melbourne, with a population of 5.078 million. Other large cities include Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo.

I hope you find my efforts helpful in your research of Victorian roots.
